About CME for MOC
ACCME has collaborated with American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) certifying boards to simplify and align the Maintenance of Certification (MOC), also known as Continuing or Continuous Certification, process to better meet the needs of physicians and educators. These collaborations enable CME providers to add value for their learners by offering educational activities that count for both CME credit and MOC credit.
Accredited CME providers can use ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) to register educational activities for these programs and report learner completion data that is made available to the certifying boards.
ACCME's CME for MOC Program Guide describes the requirements for all of the boards collaborating with ACCME, followed by sections for board-specific requirements.
Request to Jointly Provide CME for MOC Activity
The Rochester Academy of Medicine is happy to consider your request to jointly provide your CME for MOC activity. This process requires that we work together to ensure that ACCME's, the certifying board(s) & the Academy's policies are upheld. If you are new to CME for MOC the Academy strongly encourages you to call first before beginning the CME for MOC application.
Currently the Rochester Academy of Medicine is offering CME for MOC for the American Board of Surgery (ABS) with plans to expand our MOC offerings in the future.
